Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On April 2, 2013, Anton Simunovic, a member of the Board of Directors of SMTC Corporation (the "Company"), announced his resignation from the Board effective immediately. Mr. Simunovic served on the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of the Company.
Mr. Simunovic has resigned in order to concentrate on his duties as founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vener8 Technologies, Inc. Vener8 is a holding company formed to, among other things, assist GE in the global commercialization of its proprietary technology.
