Item 8.01. Other Events.
Appointment of Lead Director
On April 2, 2013, the Board of Directors appointed director Steven F. Leer to serve as Lead Director of Norfolk Southern Corporation, effective the date of the 2013 annual meeting. Mr. Leer will replace the current Lead Director, Alston D. Correll, who retires from the Board effective the date of the 2013 annual meeting.
