Item 8.01 Other Events
On March 14, 2013, Discover Financial Services (the “Company”) announced that its board of directors has approved a new share repurchase program authorizing the Company to repurchase up to $2.4 billion of its common stock and that it plans to increase its quarterly common stock dividend. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
