ROANOKE, VIRGINIA (February 21, 2013) – Valley Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: VYFC), the holding company for Valley Bank, announced today that the Company’s regulators have permitted and the Board of Directors has authorized the Company’s redemption of the second 10%, or $1,600,000, of its TARP preferred stock currently held by the U.S. Treasury (“UST”).  The payment was made on February 20, 2013 and brings the total amount redeemed to $3,200,000.  The Company currently expects to make quarterly redemptions during 2013 of similar amounts, based on its earnings, financial condition and obtaining continued regulatory permission.
