Item 8.01 Other Events
The Company has previously disclosed that it has been in ongoing negotiations with its joint venture partner, Sonangol Holdings, Lda., regarding a new long-term joint venture agreement pursuant to which Sonatide, its Angola joint venture, would be operated. Sonangol and the Company have now agreed to extend the term of the current joint venture agreement to March 31, 2013, to allow for these discussions to continue. The Company remains hopeful that a new joint venture agreement will be agreed between the parties that will put the joint venture on a more secure and permanent footing. As there are significant issues on which the parties have yet to reach an agreement, no assurance can be given that such an outcome will be achieved.
