Section 8 - Other Events
Item 8.01. Other Events.
On December 6, 2012, Capstone Therapeutics Corp. issued a press release announcing that LipimetiX Development, LLC ("LipimetiX") has received notice from the US Food and Drug Administration that Apolipoprotein E Mimetic Peptide AEM-28 has been granted Orphan Drug Designation for the treatment of Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia. The Company entered into the LipimetiX joint venture with LipimiteX LLC in August 2012. The press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
