On October 8, 2012, Renewable Energy Group, Inc. (“REG”) issued a press release updating guidance for its third quarter of 2012. The full text of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1. The press release contains forward-looking statements regarding the Company and includes cautionary statements identifying important factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those anticipated. The press release also contains non-GAAP financial measures. REG presents Adjusted EBITDA because REG believes it assists investors in analyzing its performance across reporting periods on a consistent basis. In addition, REG uses Adjusted EBITDA to evaluate, assess and benchmark its financial performance on a consistent and comparable basis.
