Item 8.01. Other Events
On September 4, 2012, Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the "Company") received a letter from The NASDAQ Stock Market ("NASDAQ") notifying it that it had regained full compliance with the NASDAQ Global Market's minimum bid price continued listing requirement as a result of the closing bid price of its common stock having been at or above the minimum requirement of $1.00 per share for at least 10 consecutive trading days.
The Company was previously notified by NASDAQ on August 23, 2012 that it had regained compliance with the NASDAQ Global Market's minimum market value of listed securities requirement of $50,000,000 for at least 10 consecutive trading days.
