On July 26, 2012 Citizens & Northern Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing the Corporation has been ranked number one in the nation in the “2012 Bank Performance Scorecard,” recently published in the 3rd Quarter 2012 issue of Bank Director Magazine. The Corporation placed first out of 195 financial institutions in the $1 billion - $5 billion asset size category included in the 2012 Bank Performance Scorecard, based on 2011 performance, with the rankings determined based on a combination of ratios used to evaluate profitability, capitalization and asset quality.
The press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
