Item 8.01    Other Events.

On April 10, 2012, Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. issued a press release announcing that Kerry J. Chauvin, Chief Executive Officer and Roy F. “Buddy” Breerwood, III, Interim Chief Financial Officer, will present at the 16^th Annual BURKENROAD REPORTS Investment Conference hosted by Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business.  The event will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Westin New Orleans Canal Place Hotel located at 100 Rue Iberville Street in New Orleans.  A copy of the press release is attached.
