Item 8.01. Other Events.
On February 9, 2011, Steel Excel Inc. issued a press release announcing that it had acquired the business and assets of Eagle Well Services, Inc., a North Dakota corporation (“Eagle”). The purchase price for the business and assets of Eagle was approximately $48.1 million. The press release announcing this acquisition is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
