On February 7, 2012, Salix issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted a priority review classification with a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) date of June 5, 2012 for the Company’s New Drug Application for Crofelemer for the proposed treatment of HIV-associated diarrhea. A copy of this press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
