Item 8.01 Other Events.
El Paso Electric Company (the “Company”) announced on February 1, 2012 that it filed a rate case with the City of El Paso. To maintain uniform rates throughout its West Texas system, the Company filed the same rate case with all other cities in its Texas service territory and with the Public Utility Commission of Texas. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this current report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.
