On December 16, 2011, Valley National Bancorp (the “Company”) announced that it will deliver a notice of redemption effective January 17, 2012 of principal face amount of $10,000,000 of the 7 3/4% Trust Preferred Securities (the “Trust Preferred Securities”) issued by VNB Capital Trust I, the Company’s subsidiary trust.
A copy of the press release announcing the redemption of the Trust Preferred Securities is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Form 8-K and is incorporated into this Item 7.01 by reference.
