Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On November 14, 2011, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (the "Company") named Daniel L. Smytka as President of its Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Smytka succeeds Pierre E. Cohade, who will be leaving the Company at the end of the year, in that role. Mr. Smytka joined Goodyear in October 2008 as Vice President of the Asia Pacific Region’s consumer tire business, and served most recently as Vice President and Program Manager for the Company’s new plant in China.
A copy of Goodyear’s news release announcing Mr. Smytka’s appointment is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
