Item 5.04 Temporary Suspension of Trading Under Registrant’s Employee Benefit Plans.
On September 16, 2011, The TJX Companies, Inc. provided notice to its directors and executive officers of rescheduled dates for the blackout period under the TJX General Savings/Profit Sharing Plan (the “Plan”), previous notice of which had been delivered and disclosed on a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 1, 2011. The blackout period for the Plan and the corresponding Puerto Rican plan is now scheduled to begin October 26, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time and expected to end during the week of November 13, 2011 to allow additional time to complete the change of recordkeepers and investment options.
