Item 8.01 – Other Events
On September 12, 2011, Monarch Financial Holdings, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors has approved a stock repurchase program authorizing the Company to repurchase shares of common stock equaling up to 3% of the Company’s outstanding common stock, or 180,000 shares. For more information, the Company’s press release dated September 12, 2011 is attached to this report as Exhibit 99.1.
