Item 2.02. Results of Operations and Financial Condition.
On September 1, 2011, Peabody Energy Corporation ("Peabody") issued a press release announcing the expected impact related to a roof fall at its North Goonyella Mine in Queensland, Australia. The press release also provides an update on Peabody's third quarter and full year 2011 targeted results. A copy of Peabody’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
