Item 8.01 Other Events
On August 29, 2011, the registrant announced that it has approved a share purchase program of up to US$100 million of the outstanding American Depositary Shares (ADSs) of Changyou.com Limited (NASDAQ: CYOU), Sohu’s online game subsidiary, and/or the outstanding shares of common stock of Sohu over a one year period from September 1, 2011 to August 31, 2012. A copy of the press release issued by the registrant regarding the foregoing is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
