Item 8.01 Other Events.
On August 2, 2011, UIL Holdings issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.432 per share on its common stock. This dividend is payable October 3, 2011 to shareowners of record at the close of business on September 19, 2011.
A copy of the Registrant's press release discussing the dividend, among other items, is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.
