On July 20, 2011, Hudson City Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”), the holding company for Hudson
City Savings Bank (the “Bank”), issued a press release announcing financial results for the quarter
ended June 30, 2011. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Report.
