ITEM 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On June 8, 2011, the Board of Directors of National Bankshares, Inc. appointed Bryson J. Hunter, age 43, as Senior Vice President, Secretary and Counsel, effective July 1, 2011. Mr. Hunter previously had been an attorney in private practice since 2001 at the law firm of Gentry Locke Rakes & Moore, LLP in Roanoke, Virginia where he specialized in banking, securities and general business law. He received his Juris Doctorate from the College of William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
