Item 8.01. Other Events
On May 17, 2011, the Board of Directors of First Century Bankshares, Inc. ("First Century") voted to modify the dividend policy for future quarterly dividends. Effective with the second quarter of 2011, the declaration of dividends to stockholders will occur after the end of the quarter, once the earnings for the quarter have been determined. The Board also approved changing its regular meeting date to occur in the month following quarter end in order to facilitate the change in the dividend policy.
