On March 8, 2011, GateHouse Media, Inc. (the “Company”) received a letter, dated March 7, 2011, from Richard L. Friedman pursuant to which he resigned as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors, effective March 7, 2011. The Company is not aware of any disagreement between Mr. Friedman and the Company on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies or practices that caused or contributed to his decision to tender his resignation. A copy of Mr. Friedman’s resignation letter is attached to this Current Report on Form 8-K as Exhibit 17.1.
