ITEM 8.01 Other Events

 

On February 2, 2011, Southern Copper Corporation, or SCC, issued a press release announcing financial results for the quarter and full year ended December 31, 2010.  In this press release, SCC also announced that, on January 27, 2011, its Board of Directors authorized a dividend of U.S.¢58 per share payable on March 1, 2011 to shareholders of record at the close of business on February 15, 2011.  A copy of this press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
