On January 20, 2011, the Board of Directors of BlackRock, Inc. (the “Company”) elected Ivan G. Seidenberg to serve as a director of the Board. Mr. Seidenberg is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Verizon Communications Inc.
The Company issued a press release announcing this appointment on January 20, 2011. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
