On January 19, 2011, Career Education Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing a reduction in its workforce by approximately 600 positions across its U.S. operations to be completed over the next several months. The Company expects to incur a charge of up to $8 million related to severance payments and other costs related to this action in its fourth quarter 2010.
