Item 8.01 Other Events.
On January 11, 2011, Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that it has opened enrollment of the SEAMLESS pivotal Phase 3 trial for the Company’s sapacitabine oral capsules as a front-line treatment of elderly patients aged 70 years or older with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who are not candidates for intensive induction chemotherapy. The study is being conducted under a Special Protocol Assessment agreement that the Company reached with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K, and the information contained therein is incorporated herein by reference.
