ITEM 7.01. REGULATION FD DISCLOSURE

Briggs & Stratton Corporation announced that it has recently made organizational changes that have resulted in a reduction of several employees from its salaried workforce. The headcount reductions were primarily at the corporate headquarters. The Company expects to take a pre-tax charge of $4.0 to $5.0 million, or $0.05 to $0.07 per diluted share after taxes, during the second quarter of fiscal 2011 for severance costs related to the staffing reductions. As a result, on November 9, 2010, the Company revised its diluted earnings per share estimate for fiscal 2011 to be in a range of $1.13 to $1.35.
