On October 5, 2010 director Steven Arnold resigned from the Board of Directors of Bank of the Ozarks, Inc. and its subsidiary bank effective immediately. Mr. Arnold had previously served as Senior Pastor of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, a position he reportedly resigned October 3, 2010.
While the Board of Directors has made no decision as to whether or not the resulting vacancy on the Board will be filled, there continues to be a majority of independent directors on the Board.
