On September 24, 2010, Geovic Mining Corp. (“Geovic,” TSX:GMC, OTCBB:GVCM) announced the appointment of Mr. Phillip R. Mason as General Manager of Geovic Cameroon PLC, and progress in pre-construction planning for the Nkamouna Project in Cameroon. A copy of the press release is included as Exhibit 99.1 to this Report.
