Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
On August 23, 2010, Apollo Group, Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, University of Phoenix,
Inc., issued a press release announcing the release of a report entitled “Higher Education at a
Crossroads.” A copy of the press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Form 8-K. A copy of
the report is furnished as Exhibit 99.2 to this Form 8-K.
