Item 8.01. Other Events.
On July 13, 2010, The First of Long Island Corporation issued a correcting and replacing press release announcing its intention to offer shares of its common stock in a public offering to be underwritten by Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc. pursuant to a shelf registration statement filed on June 23, 2010. The original press release, which was issued on July 12, 2010 and filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 12, 2010 on Form 8-K, listed incorrect contact information to obtain a copy of the prospectus supplement and the prospectus.
A copy of the correcting and replacing press release is attached to this Form 8-K/A as Exhibit 99.1.
