Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
On June 30, 2010, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (the "Company") announced that the employment with the Company of named executive officer John Walters will terminate, effective July 31, 2010, and that he will cease being an executive officer of the Company, effective July 1, 2010. In this connection, Mr. Walters will receive benefits, including the payment of severance, under his employment agreement with the Company, filed with the Commission on February 12, 2009 as an attachment to the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K.
