SEATTLE, Wash. (June 3, 2010) – Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) today reported a 3.7 percent increase in same-store sales for the four-week period ended May 29, 2010 compared with the four-week period ended May 30, 2009. Preliminary total retail sales of $705 million for May 2010 increased 7.8 percent compared with total retail sales of $653 million for the same period in fiscal 2009. May 2010 multi-channel same-store sales were unfavorably impacted by an estimated 350 to 400 basis points due to the timing shift of Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale for Women and Kids, which started on Wednesday, May 26th.
