On February 17, 2010, Pharmasset, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing the complete enrollment by Roche of a Phase 2b clinical study of RG7128, a prodrug of PSI-6130 that the Company is developing with Roche, for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C (HCV). The Company also announced that Roche will not conduct the previously planned 28 day INFORM-2 study, designed to evaluate the combination of RG7128 with RG7227, InterMune, Inc.’s protease inhibitor, with and without pegylated interferon and ribavirin. INFORM-3 will commence after Roche and InterMune, Inc. identify the optimal dose of ritonavir-boosted RG7227 from ongoing studies. The full text of the press release issued in connection with the announcement is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference into this Current Report on Form 8-K. The press release shall be deemed filed with, and not furnished to, the Securities and Exchange Commission.
