Item 7.01.              Regulation FD Disclosure

On December 11, 2009, Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. (the “Company”) announced the formation of a new UK Managing General Agent.  Paladin Underwriting Agency Limited (“Paladin”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, has been authorised by the Financial Services Authority and has obtained Lloyd’s approved coverholder status.

Paladin will produce business to both Montpelier Syndicate 5151 at Lloyd’s and to third party carriers.  Paladin is structured to attract niche underwriting teams with access to profitable classes of business that Paladin will handle in a cost effective manner. Initially Paladin will produce Specialist Contractors, Recycling and Crime classes of business.
